Aperture: 2.9
Exposure time: 1/1000
ISO: 100
Shutter Speed: 9.9

For this assignment I had to use lights around my school and house to create some shadows. It was a pretty easy assignment, I just had to move things around to create cool affects. I learned more about setting up pictures.

Macro, Photo #7

Aperture: 3.6
Exposure time: 1/60
ISO: 80
Shutter Speed: 5.9
This week I shot my photos for macro. I didn't really have much trouble shooting for this because there were a lot of things around the house that would be perfect for these shots. I learned how to set up the camera for the perfect macro shots.

School Context Assignment

For this assignment I had to take a picture of something in my school and add things to it that would be kind of odd to the picture. So I took a picture of the school commons and added a bunch a cartoons to it that you wouldn't normally see there. I don't think I did very well, it was kind of hard being as I was sick and had to rush through it on the last day, but I got through it and learned more about how to use gimp.

Dictionary Assignment

For this assignment I had to choose a word and show its definition by combining pictures that resemble its meaning. I chose aggressive as my word because I thought it would be a pretty easy thing to portray. I searched pictures of scary animals who give an essence of aggression. It was a pretty easy assignment after using gimp so many times before. I also kind of liked it because I got to decide what I wanted to do.

Photo 6: Nature and Landscape

This week I took pictures that focused on nature and landscape. I live in a rural area so I went around and just took pictures of the plants and trees. I was going to choose a picture I had taken over christmas break. But I decided to use one I took of some flowers outside my house because I really liked that one.

I've not really learned anything new this week. But I had a pretty good time going around taking these pictures. I guess you could say that I've learned my old phone could take pretty good pictures.

Motion Demo

Today we had to take motion pictures of Mr. Bush riding his bike. At first this was pretty hard but after some practice I got some pretty nice pictures. I learned a new way of taking cool pictures and I think I'm going to use it as one of my photo assignments.

Panoramic Assignment

For this assignment I had to take three pictures of different angles in the same area and merge them together      to create a kind of fish eye view. I took three simple pictures and put them together to make it look as you're looking down two hallways. I didn't really like this assignment because it was pretty hard. I had trouble fitting them perfectly together and matching the colors.

Portrait Demo

For this assignment I had to take two photos using different kinds of lighting. For one photo I had used the sunlight and a blank piece of white paper as a reflector. I had someone reflect the sunlight off the paper onto the dark side of my subjects face. For the other photo I used studio lighting to light up each side of my subject. Taking the pictures was the simple part, but the editing was kind of harder. I had a lot of trouble with the layers and getting the pictures to show on the same page.

Animal

F-stop: f/2.8
ISO: 400
Aperture: 1.7

The subject I focused on this week was animals. I tried doing light painting but my camera didn't have the right settings that I needed to use for it so I figured I'd go for the animals. I basically just tried to get a few different animals playing around or doing something so that my pictures wouldn't be to boring. Unfortunatlly my pictures weren't that great but I tried my hardest and took the best pictures I could.

During this week I learned how the minor things that surround me could make a really nice beautiful. Good pictures can be as simple as anything. I've also learned that next week I should use a better camera.

Car Project

In this assignment my job was to take a picture taken by another student, and to edit it on Gimp. It was pretty easy once I got the hang of it. I had to basically get rid of some glare, tint the windows, fix the color, and hide the background. In the end my car turned out looking great, and I learned how to do better editing in the process.

Photo Assignment 1-Black and White

ISO: 400
Exsposure time: 1/15
Depth: 8

For this assignment I had to use all the compositions and settings I’ve learned to take great pictures. For this week my subject was focused on black and white. I took pictures of things around my house because I figured taking pictures in the snow might be to bright for black and white settings. I enjoyed taking these pictures.

"Phone"
"Iron"
"Lamp"
"Book"
"Dog"
"Toy"
"Candle"
"Chairs"
"Coke"
"Flowers.

I’ve learned that taking black and white pictures works well when you focus on a subject that has a wide variety of bright and dark colors. I’ve also improved my skills on adjusting the camera settings. Though my camera was not the best for taking these pictures I think they turned out pretty good.

Gimp Assignment 1

This was my first GIMP assignment of my entire life. I had to take a portrait of someone that i shot and make it into a pop art portrait. Pop art is basically taking the same image and using 4 different colors to make it pop. I used a picture i had taken of my sister, and i think it went pretty well. At first it was kind of hard but i got the hang of it towards the end and my picture turned out great.

Composition Assignment 1

For this assignment I had to take a picture to represent eleven different categories of photography. I took a picture to represent rule of thirds, pattern, texture, depth of field, lines, symmetry, color, balance, framing, space, and perspective. I had most trouble with the balance shot, I couldn't quite get it right.

Rule of Thirds="Clock"
Pattern="Lockers"
Texture="Footprints in the Snow"
Depth of Field="Leaf"
Lines="Flag Poles"
Symmetry="Tree"
Color="Trash Bin"
Balance="Chair and Shadow"
Framing="Arrow Sign"
Space="Exit Sign"
Perspective="Shoes"

During this time I have learned many new ways to take pictures. I know a little bit more about how I can be able to take great looking pictures just by applying these techniques.
